This Privacy Policy explains how Future Guide (“we”, “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website, the Windows desktop app, and the Future Guide mobile apps for parents, students, staff, and drivers.

1. Information we collect

• Account details: name, email / login ID, phone number, school affiliation, role (parent, student, staff, driver).
• School records: student profile, attendance, homework, exams/marks, fees status, notices, and related school data provided by the school.
• Transport / location: when Live Bus GPS is enabled, approximate device location during active trips so parents can track the bus and drivers can run trips.
• Payments: fee payment status and transaction references processed via payment gateways (e.g. Razorpay). We do not store full card numbers.
• Device & usage: device identifiers, app version, crash/diagnostics, and push notification tokens (e.g. Firebase) when enabled by the school.

2. How we use information

• To operate school services (academics, fees, transport, notices, chat where enabled).
• To authenticate users and keep accounts secure.
• To process school fee payments as instructed by the school.
• To send school-related notifications when the school configures them.
• To maintain, secure, and improve the Service.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use school records for advertising or for any purpose other than running and supporting Future Guide.

3. Where data is stored

Cloud data is hosted and backed up on Amazon Web Services (AWS). The Windows desktop app can also keep a copy on your school PC. That local copy is under the school’s control. You should keep your own backups. A local copy does not make us responsible if the cloud copy is later lost.

4. Sharing

We share data with the school that administers your account, and with processors that help us run the Service (AWS hosting/backup, maps, push notifications, payment gateways), under appropriate arrangements. We do not sell personal information.

5. Retention & security

Data is retained while the school account is active and as required for school or legal records. We use encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and industry-standard safeguards where applicable. No system is perfectly secure. We are not liable for loss or unauthorised access that we could not reasonably prevent — see our Terms.

6. Children’s privacy

Future Guide is a school utility for adult parents, staff, and drivers. Student information is managed under the school’s authority. The app is not directed at children for independent store use.

7. Account deletion

Parents and staff may request account deletion via the school office or privacy@futureguides.co. Schools can deactivate accounts from the school console. Deletion removes or anonymises app login access; statutory school records may be retained by the school as required by law.

8. Your choices

• Location can be limited by OS permissions; bus tracking needs location while trips run.
• Push notifications can be disabled in device settings.
• Schools can keep a local desktop copy and their own backups.
